For the second time, the Permanent Attention Office of the National District postponed the hearing to decide the measure of coercion against Freddie Nunezpresident of the Dominican Modern Pentathlon Federationand Hannibal Ozoriatreasurer of the same institution, accused of cheat to the Dominican State.
The hearing was rescheduled for Friday, November 1, at 2:00 p.m.
The defense of Nunez requested this postponement, due to the volume of the file requesting a coercive measure, which consists of 750 pages and contains 219 means of evidence provided by the Public Ministry.
The owner of the Attorney’s Office Specialized Pursuit Corruption Administrative Officer (PEPCA), Wilson Camacho, explained that these documents detail the alleged methods used to steal funds from the federation, highlighting the Public Ministry’s request for preventive detention and for the case to be declared complex.
For her part, the lawyer OzoriaOlianna García Mateo, assured that her client is innocent and always acted in good faith. He alleges that he has been involved in the case because of his role as treasurer.
García Mateo questioned the evidence related to alleged checks, stating that the dates and amounts have not been verified and described Ozoria as a noble and humble person.
In addition, Freddie Ozoriaassured that his brother Aníbal is innocent and blamed Freddie Nunez of everything.
