Dictator Daniel Ortega continues to increase public spending on the repressive apparatus that supports his regime by increasing the budget for the Nicaraguan Army and the National Police, which together add up to more than 824 million córdobas by the year 2025.
On October 29, Ortega sent the General Budget Project of the Republic (PGR) in which it details that the military body will execute a budget for next year of 4,240.5 million córdobas, which represents 402 million 840 thousand córdobas more than the budget assigned for the uniformed during 2024.

For its part, the Police at the service of the dictatorship will receive a budget allocation for next year of 5,048.8 million córdobas. That amount contains 420 million more than what was budgeted for that repressive body this year.
That is, between the Army and the Police, the two armed institutions that support the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship have received an increase of 824 million 640 thousand córdobas.
In addition, the police will receive another portion of public funds through the component called Public Investment Plan (PIP), where Ortega’s personal guard is assigned an additional 320 million córdobas, which will be invested in the construction and improvement of police buildings.
For its part, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) would be placed with 19,558.6 million córdobas; 5,636.5 million córdobas more than in 2024, it was ranked as one of the ministries that would receive a greater increase in its budget this year.
The MTI included among its works to be executed with this item some that have been controversial in recent months, among them: “improvement of the navigation of Río San Juan 200 km” and “construction of the Corinto-Bluefields multimodal interoceanic railway corridor (450 KM )».
Last August, the regime ordered the creation of the Nicaraguan San Juan River Dredging Company, establishing said entity as “a decentralized public company, with technical, administrative and financial autonomy, under the control of the State of Nicaragua, with legal personality and assets.” own, of indefinite duration and with full capacity to acquire rights and obligations.
However, the execution of funds for improvements in the navigability of the tributary, as proposed by the PGR 2025 proposal, will continue to be the responsibility of the MTI.

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) of Costa Rica managed to identify, locate and order raids and arrest operations against four suspects of participating in the shooting attack against the exiled opposition member in Costa Rica Joao Maldonado and his partner, Nadia Robleto .

The raids were directed towards Bajo Los Anonos, Barrio León XIII, Atillo and Alajuelita, four neighborhoods located in the Costa Rican capital.
