The Senate of the Republic approved in a single reading the resolution that requests the executive director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT), Milton Morrison Ramírez, to order the annual technical inspection of motor vehiclesas provided by law no. 63-17, Mobility, Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety of the Dominican Republic.
The legislative initiative presented by Senator Antonio Marte, in its 5th recital. requests the gradual withdrawal of land transport units, scrap metal or vehicles in poor condition, and the creation and compliance of the replacement schedule for land transport units of the public passenger servicethe application of the Vehicle Technical Inspection throughout the national territory must be ordered with high priority, immediately and compliance with the regulations issued by INTRANT.
Furthermore, it establishes that the technical rules to check the correct operation of motor vehicles that travel on public roads in the Dominican Republic must faithfully comply with road safety and environmental protection standards.
During this Tuesday’s work, the Plenarysanctioned in a single reading the resolution that grants a posthumous recognition to María Antonia Sosa (Nena), for his valuable contributions in his long and fruitful professional and academic career, for more than 40 years, for the benefit of the Dominican nation, an initiative presented by Senator Antonio Marte.
Also approved was a favorable reportpresented by the president of the Senate Finance Commission, Pedro Catrain, on the Agreement of the subscription instrument for 5,927 shares of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank group, under the terms and conditions established in the resolutions of the Board of Governors, an initiative sent by the Executive Branch.
Another initiative approved was the resolution that recognizes the educator Wellington Lewis Anderson for his great career and successful professional, academic, social career and his great contributions to the benefit of education, a proposal from Senator Alexis Victoria.
The senators also approved the resolution that requests President Luis Abinader to instruct the rector of the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), Rafael Jesús Feliz García, to install an extension of the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) in the province of La Altagracia, this piece of legislation was presented by the senator of Altagracia, Rafael Duluc Rijo.
