According to the Ministry of Tourism, the new position points to the recovery in the number of domestic passengers, after the pandemic, and shows that the sector is following the same pace in other countries, such as the United States, China and Japan, which lead the ranking global.

According to the ministry, the growth of the national market this year was above the world average, at 6.6%. The global average growth was 5.6%. Until July, according to Iata, Brazilian domestic flights had 44 million passengers.

Data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) shows that 80% of the approximately 10 million tourists, in September, flew to national destinations, according to the ministry.

In July, the federal government launched Voa Brasil, a program aimed at retirees from the National Social Security Institute (INSS), regardless of income level and who have not traveled in the last 12 months. The public can buy airline tickets for up to R$200 each way. In two months, Voa Brasil had already sold around 10.4 thousand tickets to 68 Brazilian destinations.
