In the first half, Brazil dominated the match and had more scoring opportunities. And they took the lead in the 27th minute. With a free kick from the left, Duda Sampaio crossed in the middle of the area and found defender Isa Hass, who headed the ball into the back of the net. It was the Internacional athlete’s first goal wearing yellow. This was also the first time that the 23-year-old defender was called up to the senior team.
Still in the first stage, a new cross entered the Colombian area and full-back Bia Menezes headed the ball into the goal. But the move was canceled due to a foul on the Colombian goalkeeper. In the 46th minute, Marília passed through to Gio Queiroz, who advanced at speed, getting rid of the two Colombian defenders, and hitting goalkeeper Tápia. It was the Brazilians’ second goal.
After the break the Colombians improved, and Linda Caicedo scored a great goal in the 23rd minute, in a run from the right wing, to save money for her team. However, the night really belonged to Brazil, who gave final numbers to the scoreboard in the 36th minute, with full-back Adriana taking a penalty kick.
