Santo Domingo. -The Dominican Vice President, Raquel Peña, will participate in the Council of the Americas (COA) Symposium 2024, which will be held in Miami, Florida, United States, with the aim of adding the vision of the Dominican Republic to the discussion on the challenges and the opportunities that Latin America and the Caribbean offer to promote sustainable economic and social development.

During the development of the event, Raquel Peña will be responsible for leading one of the key spaces of the symposium by giving the conference “A Country in Transformation: The leadership of the Dominican Republic in Sustainable Investments”, a moment that will be followed by a discussion in the The vice president will also participate along with the executive director of Grupo Cisneros, Adriana Cisneros, to delve deeper into the strategies for attracting foreign investment.

Raquel Peña, who also chairs the Investment Promotion Cabinet of the Dominican Republic, will join the event at noon this Wednesday, October 30, after arriving in Miami, Florida, where she will be received by the Dominican consul in Miami, Geanilda Vásquez .

Within the framework of his work agenda in the aforementioned American city, Peña will lead the unveiling of a gallery of former Dominican consuls, the circulation of the institutional memory of the Dominican consulate in Miami and will hold various meetings to exchange good practices on topics of interest and strengthen the country’s relations in the international context.

The Council of the Americas Symposium 2024, by its name in English, is a space for international dialogue that brings together business leaders and government representatives to bring to the table, analyze and understand the contemporary political, social and economic context that permeates the western hemisphere.

Likewise, they will specifically address issues to promote the development and growth of Latin America and the Caribbean without affecting the environment, such as the energy transition, digital inclusion, the future of technology in the region, among others.

For this edition, the participation of more than 500 leaders representing multinational corporations, venture capital firms, multilatinas, Latin American technological unicorns, media and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is expected.

Vice President Raquel Peña will return to the country on Wednesday the 30th, in the afternoon, to continue with her responsibilities in the city of Santiago.
