Dictator Daniel Ortega continues to increase public spending on the repressive apparatus that supports his regime by increasing the budget for the Nicaraguan Army and the Police, together, by more than 824 million córdobas by the year 2025.
Ortega sent this Tuesday, October 29, the General Budget Project of the Republic (PGR) in which he details that the Military Corps will execute a budget for next year of 4,240.5 million córdobas, which represents 402 million 840 thousand córdobas more that the budget allocated for the uniformed during 2024
For its part, the Police at the service of the dictatorship will receive a budget allocation for next year of 5,048.8 million córdobas. That amount contains 420 million more than what was budgeted for that repressive body this year.
That is, between the Army and the Police, the two armed institutions that support the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship have received an increase of 824 million 640 thousand córdobas.

In addition, the police will receive another portion of public funds through the component called Public Investment Plan (PIP), where Ortega’s personal guard is assigned 320 million córdobas more, which will be invested in the construction and improvement of police buildings.
The PGR project sent by the tyrant to his political operators who serve as deputies in the National Assembly does not reveal details of how the armed forces will invest these funds. Except for those that will be allocated through the PIP for the construction or improvement of police stations.
The budget of the dictatorship
«The Budget project for 2025 contemplates a General Income Budget of 158,000 730.4 million córdobas, while the general expenditure budget is 154,000 026.1 million, it is a global budget surplus for 2025 of 4,704 point 3 million córdoba, which is equivalent to 3% of total income and 0.6% of GDP, which maintains the policy of surplus fiscal balance,” says the document sent by the tyrant to his deputies.
The regime affirms that the 2025 Tax Revenue Budget reaches coverage of 96.3% of the expenditure budget of that same year. “Which demonstrates the tax sufficiency of the fiscal accounts and the progress in strengthening one of the permanent sources of public spending,” the document states.
