SBPC extends registration of female and university students for award

The Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC) has extended until November 7th the registration of works by high school and university students in the 6th edition of the “Carolina Bori Science & Woman” Award.SBPC extends registration of female and university students for award

The winners will receive R$7,000 (high school) and R$10,000 (undergraduate). The award aims to encourage scientific production by women and seeks to help increase female participation in future generations of scientists and leaders in the sector. The award is sponsored by the Conrado Wessel Foundation and the Serrapilheira Institute.

Six students will be awarded, three from each level, who will present their work at the 77th SBPC Annual Meeting, to be held in July 2025, in Recife (PE).

Registration

Registration must be made exclusively by form online available on the SBPC website. According to the institution, candidates can be nominated by teachers, advisors, organizers of science fairs and olympiads, schools and universities

>> You must present the following documents:

Mini-biography of the student (up to 500 characters);

Updated CV on the Lattes Platform;

Letter of recommendation digitally signed by the gov.br system, with up to 2,000 characters;

Scientific project/activity carried out (up to 2 pages), detailing the development, objectives achieved and impact of the candidate’s work. The documentation must specify what was done by the student and what was guided by the teacher/advisor.

If the nomination is based on performance in activities such as fairs or scientific Olympics, documentation must prove participation and the results achieved.

The awards will be awarded on February 11, 2025, during the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, broadcast live on the SBPC YouTube Channel.
