Alberto Otárola reveals that during his administration there were "information leak" who favored Vladimir Cerrón to evade justice

Alberto Otárola reveals that during his administration there were "information leak" who favored Vladimir Cerrón to evade justice

“They knew that this man was going to be captured,” was what he said the former president of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola, about the operations that were carried out during his administration to capture the fugitive from justice, Vladimir Cerrón. According to the former prime minister, there was a leak of information specifically about the failed operation in the Asia condominium to catch the leader of Peru Libre last January.

“We have seen a certain type of information leak,” Otárola Peñaranda said about the strategies of the National Police during his administration to catch Cerrón Rojas. “The truth is that this will have to be investigated in a moment, but They knew that this man was going to be captured and the news that the law enforcement forces gave me at that time was that there was a leak of information and he had escaped,” he said during an interview for Canal N.

Likewise, Alberto Otárola explained that it was during an operation in the south of Lima that could not be carried out, apparently, because there was a leak or infiltration of information that frustrated the development of the action planned by the National Police. But he also criticized that since that date, and until now, the other operations to find the whereabouts of Vladimir Cerrón have not been successful. “The PNP has an intelligence unit that manages more than 120 million soles. Instead of ‘gossiping’ about the activities of former ministers“They should invest that money in capturing those persecuted by justice,” he concluded.

Dina Boluarte does not attend the inspection for the ‘Cofre’ case: “What does the president want to hide?”

The president of the Oversight Commission, Juan Burgos, announced that, after the refusal of President Dina Boluarte to attend the session from your working group, a letter will be sent requesting that you indicate a date and time so that they can go to the Government Palace to discuss the issue of the ‘Chest’. In addition, Burgos highlighted that the information provided by Rutas de Lima contradicts the president’s versions and questioned the lack of GPS in the presidential vehicles. “All this raises doubts about what is hidden and what does it want to hide Madam President,” he said.

The Oversight Commission continued investigating the ‘Cofre’ case and revised Boluarte’s statement during his last press conference on October 22, in which he explained his visit to the Mikonos condominium, although he refused to reveal who he went to see, invoking the ‘privacy’ of his surroundings. However, a statement made by the president was questioned in which she assured that “it is false that the chest has returned empty,” adding that “there is always a change of shift” and that was picked up in a different vehicleaccompanied by her entire escort and motorized vehicles.

According to the information provided by Rutas de Lima to the Inspection Commission, on the morning of February 25, the only vehicle that passed through the tolls of Conchan, Villa, Quebrada Seca, Punta Negra, Arica, Huaylas and San Pedro was the car with license plate EGR 844, known as ‘ chest’. This contradicts the version of Palacio, who had informed the Prosecutor’s Office that the vehicle that picked up Boluarte was a white Audi with license plate EGK267, the same one that the president mentioned in her press conference.

Vladimir Cerrón mocks Minister Santiváñez’s inability to capture him: “He is clumsy and figureti”

Vladimir Cerrón, even in hiding and with an arrest warrant against him, has intensified his criticism against the government of Dina Boluarte through Twitter, where he openly challenges the authorities and mocks the attempts to arrest him. Although his location is unknown, Cerrón has gone a step further by granting interviews to the media, showing a defiant attitude and boasting about his freedom, while ridiculing the authorities’ inability to locate him.

In an interview published on October 25 in a regional newspaper in Lambayeque, Cerrón denied the charges he faces, calling them “legal nonsense” and ensuring that, over time, “more people believe in his innocence.” Later, on October 27, Cuarto Poder also broadcast an interview in which the leader of Peru Libre, who has been evading justice for more than a year, reiterated his position and continued his criticism of the authorities.

The former governor specifically referred to the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, whom he described as “incapable” and “clumsy” due to the failures in his capture attempt. Cerrón suggested that Santiváñez has prioritized his image in the media over concrete results, and suggested an alleged agreement with President Boluarte to get his position. According to Cerrón, Santiváñez would have offered to deactivate the DIVIAC police unit in exchange for his appointment as minister, stating that after obtaining the position, he began to build his own political agenda.
