The MAS warns that there is uncertainty in the country due to the publication of the disaggregated data of the July 28 elections
The general secretary of the Movement Towards Socialism (FURTHER), Felipe Mujica, stated on Monday, October 28, that for there to be democracy in Venezuela, there must be alternation in power; Therefore, he suggested to the 2020 National Assembly that it dedicate a space to recognize this principle in order to recover healthy political exercise in Venezuela.
“Without alternation in power, without people choosing who they want to govern and without the recognition of other factors that can be part of decision-making, it is impossible to conceive a democracy,” Mujica asserted.
He recalled that, through voting, people can choose the political leader of their preference and define a winner, who must dedicate themselves to working for a good administration and those who lose, to improve their proposals; process that happens in the democratic world.
In that sense, the MAS leader criticized the phrase coined by Chavismo of “They will not return”, because in his opinion political alternation is registered with additional conflicts; referring to the 2015 election where the opposition won the majority in parliament and the administration of Nicolás Maduro annulled the representation of Amazonas and prevented it from making important decisions.
He pointed out that in Venezuela there is uncertainty because, three months before the elections, the disaggregated data for July 28 is not known and the countries do not know what position to take on the matter.

“He gave information where anyone who goes out to buy a product realizes that the gap between the bolivar and the dollar increases the cost of living,” he stressed.
The MAS leader also spoke about the death of the political leader of Voluntad Popular, Edwin Santos and the different versions handled by family members, the government and the party. Mujica warned that this event is nothing new in our country. He requested an investigation to clarify the facts.
In addition, he called on the national government to resolve the situation of the 1,800 Venezuelans who continue to be detained for political reasons.
Regarding the Brics summit, Felipe Mujica assured that those in power could not achieve their goal of being part of this group, due to the opacity surrounding the elections.
