There is outrage in Colombia over a new and atrocious crime against minors, in which the victims were a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, who were murdered with a knife by their own father during the night of Monday, October 28.

The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, expressed his deep sadness at the event and condemned the violence against the minors. Through his official account on the social network «The news of the murder of two children, ages 4 and 7, by their father hurts me deeply. What is happening to us as a society? “These cases are heartbreaking and unacceptable,” the mayor wrote.
The brutality of this crime has reopened the debate on domestic violence and the protection of minors in Colombia, a country that faces a constant challenge in the fight against these atrocious acts.
