The president declined the invitation of the Oversight Commission to appear this Tuesday. In addition, he would have requested that the list of questions about the case be sent to him.
Boluarte’s decision not to attend the session scheduled for 9:00 am is based on the fact that the functions of a president do not cover the subject matter of the invitation. The Commission investigates the alleged irregular use of the presidential vehicle, known as the ‘cofre’, in relation to the escape of the leader of Peru Libre, Vladimir Cerrón. This decision was announced through a document released by the RPP media.
Enrique Vílchez, general secretary of the Presidential Office, communicated the decision through a letter addressed to the president of the Commission, Juan Burgos. In this document, the willingness to provide the necessary information is expressed, provided that the corresponding list of questions is sent.
