The secretary indicates that the prevention of deaths due to traffic events is a priority, especially for motorcycle users, since in 2023 alone 76 motorcyclists died due to accidents in the State of Mexico.

To avoid doubts about the validity of the certification or corruption problems, the entity in charge of carrying out the skills exams for motorcyclists will be the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Skills (know), which depends on the Ministry of Education. Public (SEP).

Motorcyclists must go to a Saber certification center, take their exam and once they pass it they will be able to obtain their license. If you fail the exam, you will have one year to try again until you pass.

Sibaja recognizes that raising the standard for obtaining a motorcycle license may be an unpopular measure, however the purpose is to reduce road deaths.

“We know that there is annoyance from citizens but we also know that it is better to be safe than sorry.
