Petrobras recorded production of 2.689 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). The number represents a drop compared to the previous quarter (2.699 million boed) and compared to the third quarter of 2023 (2.880 million boed). The company’s most recent operational highlights included reaching the top of production at the FPSO Sepetiba, in the Mero field and the entry of new wells into projects in the Búzios and Tupi fields.
The share of pre-salt oil in the oil load processed in refineries reached 73%, a record for a quarter (an increase of 4 percentage points compared to the second quarter of 2024).
In August, the processed load of pre-salt oil was 76%, a monthly record. Production and sales of derivatives in the domestic market grew 4.2% compared to the previous quarter, driven by the seasonal increase in demand. In September 2024, Petrobras had the best monthly result in the year for the total utilization factor (FUT) of the refining park, reaching 97%.
Total production of derivatives was 1,818 thousand barrels per day (Mbpd), with priority given to high value-added products (diesel, gasoline and QAV corresponded to 68% of total production). The result occurred despite the maintenance stoppages carried out at Replan, Reduc, Revap and RPBC during the quarter.
Gasoline production in the third quarter of this year was 438 thousand barrels per day. In the third quarter, there were three consecutive months of advances in sales of diesel with renewable content (Diesel R), reaching 3.7 Mbpd in September, double the previous record of April 2024.
Asphalt sales totaled 816.7 thousand tons. 6% more diesel was sold in the period due to the seasonal increase in consumption in the third quarter. Gasoline sales grew 1% compared to the previous quarter.
LPG sales volume rose 3.2%, which the company attributes to greater activity in the processing industry in the third quarter and lower average temperature records in the country’s main consumer centers during this period.
