Rodri, 28, had tough competition for his first Ballon d’Or, as he beat Real Madrid players Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, second and third respectively, after playing a key role in winning the Spanish League and the Champions League.
Vinicius, one of the favorites for the award on this occasion, had had an incredible campaign. He scored 31 goals between the Champions League and the Spanish League, and even scored against Borussia Dortmund in the European final to cap a sensational year.

For his part, Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid’s English midfielder, had a fantastic start with his team after signing for Borussia Dortmund last summer.
