The first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, assured that whoever does not “get on the train” of the electoral law reforms will “be left without a ticket” for the next elections scheduled for 2025.
He made this statement during the PSUV’s usual weekly press conference, when referring to the reforms being advanced by parliament, related to electoral laws and those of People’s Power.
“It is very buttery, very easy to go to elections when they call elections, but when it comes to recognizing the results they do not recognize them and they engage in a conspiracy. Then other elections come and here I am if you haven’t seen me, now I am a Democrat. “They are gathering there, trying to sneak over the railing,” he warned.
Cabello maintained that it has been demonstrated that “Venezuela has a high concept of what democracy is, not the old representative democracy, but the participatory and leading one.”
“Our brother president and the Assembly are deployed, these laws are going to be approved and whoever wants to make their contributions can do so. Many people who participated in the presidential elections and who have not recognized the results say: let’s see why we find it interesting and let’s review whether we join. That’s it! when you recognized the results. Where is your democratic character, where is your true intention. Every time there is a conspiracy they actively participate and then they want to act crazy,” he exclaimed.
Cabello also highlighted that the call that has been made to the parties to participate in the reforms of the laws has been very broad. “Everyone was invited, even the chair was there, they didn’t go, that is, the games that have a card. Some did not attend, others have been present. That seems to matter to us, it is inconsequential for them what is going to be discussed there, because in truth their plan has never been electoral, their plan is to break in, the short route, the violence and in recent times the terrorism, fascism,” he noted.
He stressed that the call to participate in the reforms of the aforementioned legal instruments will continue to be open and will not stop “because they do not go,” since Venezuela’s great political force is concentrated there.
In this regard, he said that if political parties do not recognize the institutions of the State, it is absurd to want to participate in an electoral process. “How can you register for elections in the CNE?” he asked.
He specified that there are those who have demonstrated with their actions that they only want to have a political party “to franchise it and rent it to the highest bidder” every time there is an election.
