Santo Domingo.- Carlos Pimentel, executive director of Public-Private Alliances (DGAPP), presented his resignation this Monday, a position to which he was recently appointed by President Luis Abinader and which had received criticism from various sectors.
Despite his departure from the DGAPP, Pimentel will maintain his role as Director of Public Procurement (DGCP), a position he has held since August 2020.
In a letter addressed to the president, dated October 27, 2024, Pimentel stressed his unwavering commitment to the values of a rule of law and to the mission of promoting efficiency and transparency in the administration of public resources.

“This decision arises after deep personal and professional reflection, convinced that the measure adopted responds to the search for ways and mechanisms to make public spending more efficient and strengthen institutional coherence,” he said. Pimentel in his letter.
He also took the opportunity to thank President Abinader for the trust placed in his management, highlighting his commitment to continue contributing to the strengthening of the Public Procurement System, always under the principles of efficiency and administrative rationality.
Pimentel reaffirmed his commitment to the country and expressed his intention to continue serving the public interest, with the purpose of achieving the fundamental objectives of the Administration.
In his words, his resignation is a sign of his adherence to the values of transparency and citizen service, which have been the pillars of his career in the public sphere.
Despite his departure from the DGAPP, Carlos Pimentel will maintain his role as director of the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP), a position he has held since August 2020, from where he will continue to promote policies aimed at integrity and efficiency in public procurement. .
