Government has transferred RD$69,132 MM to Ede

The highest amount corresponded to Edeeste, which is the Ede that registers the highest percentage of losses, for RD$4,461.3 MM

Last September, the government made current transfers to the electricity distribution companies (EDE) for R$11,452.1 millionaccording to the budget execution report of the General Budget Directorate.

The highest amount corresponded to Edeeste, which is the Ede that registers the highest percentage of losses, for RD$4,461.3 million, followed by Edenorte (RD$3,408.6 million) and Edesur (RD$3,382.2 million).
Last August, the Government transferred RD$3,019.2 million to Edeeste, RD$2,344.9 million to Edesur and RD$1,716.7 million to Edenorte, for a total of RD$7,080.8 million.

The transfers made by the Government in the electricity sector were RD$50.6 billion between the months of January and July of this year, according to the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development, so transfers to the Edes have reached RD$69,132 million in nine months. That means losses have not decreased.

Within current expenses, the main component was current transfers, which reached RD$36,951.1 million (39.5%) last September.

In that same year, the Government transferred RD$5,000 million to the Central Bank and RD$6,147.6 million to the National Health Service.
