Hurricane emergency "John" ends; Support for Guerrero and Oaxaca continues

The president indicated that 6,659 million pesos are allocated to address the damage in Guerrero, while in Oaxaca 1,055 million pesos have been designated, which includes the response to the emergency – such as cleaning and reconstruction of public infrastructure – as well as support social services that are in the process of being delivered.

The census carried out by the Ministry of Welfare has registered 64,930 damaged homes in Acapulco and 78,554 homes in the rest of the municipalities of Guerrero (143,484 damaged homes in total). Meanwhile, in Oaxaca there are 10,239 homes affected, reported Ariadna Montiel, head of said secretariat.

The official indicated that different economic supports will be provided to the affected people: cleaning for 8,000 pesos; of damage, which ranges from 15,000 to 35,000 pesos, according to the degree of damage to the home. In case of total loss, the support will be 60,000 pesos.

These will be delivered from November 4 to 10 in Guerrero and from November 4 to 8 in Oaxaca. In Acapulco, Montiel assured, around 90% of the support has already been delivered.

The president was accompanied in the report by governors Evelyn Salgado, from Guerrero, and Salomón Jara, from Oaxaca, as well as members of her cabinet.
