National government repudiates attack against Evo Morales: “it constitutes an act of fascist violence”

The national government repudiated the attack perpetrated against the former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, which occurred this Sunday near the city of Cochabamba, and classified it as “an act of fascist violence.”

Through an official statement issued by the country’s Foreign Ministry, the Republic pointed out that this is an “abhorrent” event and that it “constitutes an act of fascist violence that seeks to inoculate violence and political hatred in Bolivian society.”

Also, the Venezuelan Executive celebrated the beginning of investigations by the Government of President Luis Arce to clarify and punish those responsible for the attack.

Next, the full text from the statement:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiates the attack perpetrated against Former President Evo Morales, recorded in the Tropics of Cochabamba when he was on his way to carry out activities on his work agenda. This abhorrent act constitutes an act of fascist violence that seeks to inoculate violence and political hatred in Bolivian society.

We celebrate the start of investigations by the government of President Luis Arce Catacora to clarify and penalize this attack on the physical integrity of the former Bolivian president that disturbs the tranquility of Bolivians.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, consistent with its Peace Diplomacy, stands in solidarity with the leadership of the Movement towards Socialism, while reiterating its brotherhood and friendship with the brother Bolivian people.
