A bulletin released by the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo (TRE-SP) at around 3pm today (27) reported that 58 electronic voting machines needed to be replaced. They presented some error during the second round municipal elections taking place in 18 municipalities in São Paulo, which corresponds to 0.13% of the total of 44,928 ballot boxes used for this Sunday’s elections.
Of this total number of replaced ballot boxes, 34 were being used in the capital of São Paulo.
Normality
Earlier, in a press conference, judge Silmar Fernandes, president of TRE-SP, informed that the elections in the state of São Paulo run smoothly. “I am honored to say that everything is proceeding normally,” he said.
This Sunday, more than 15.6 million voters in the state of São Paulo are eligible to vote, which takes place in 18 cities in the state. In addition to the capital of São Paulo, elections are also being held in the cities of Guarulhos, São Bernardo do Campo, Diadema, Mauá, Barueri, Taboão da Serra, São José dos Campos, Ribeirão Preto, São José do Rio Preto, Jundiaí, Piracicaba, Franca , Taubaté, Limeira, Sumaré, Santos and Guarujá.
