Cruzeiro Esporte Clube published a note on its social networks regretting the episode that culminated in the death of a club fan, after an alleged ambush by Palmeiras fans on the Fernão Dias highway, near Mairiporã (SP). In the statement, the Minas Gerais club calls for an end to what it called “criminal acts” in football.
According to a note from the São Paulo State Security Secretariat, the information is that a Cruzeiro fan died and 12 were injured after a conflict that took place around 5am this Sunday (27). The circumstances continue to be investigated by the civil, military and Federal Highway police.
Until the publication of this article, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and Palmeiras had not commented on the matter.
