What happened at Tecpan?

“The result is 17 aggressors who lose their lives, 11 arrested, two municipal police officers killed and four injured,” said Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security, during the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum, on October 25.
According to the official, the attack was initially directed against a rival criminal group known as ‘Los Granados’, with whom the ‘Gente Nueva Group’ cell disputes the territory.
“They brought GNG, which is Grupo Gente Nueva, in the doors of the vehicles, however, this incursion by this armed group is important, they were not originally going to attack the Army, they were going to attack the criminal group that was inside Tecpan from Galeana,” explained Harfuch.
