The former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, This Sunday on Radio Kawsachum Coca reported details of the alleged attack on his life that he suffered this Sunday, October 27.

The former president described how, in the middle of the journey, he was intercepted by people aboard two vehicles who tried to stop him. allegedly shot, receiving at least 14 shots against him.

“We were passing the ninth (army division) and two trucks surprised us, vehicles they call Ttundras. At first I thought that some drunk person wanted to stop us, but then I suspected it was strange,” said Morales, who explained that the driver, nicknamed Mapache , diverted the road, but one of the vehicles managed to cross in front of them. “We realized it was an operation.”

Morales explained that in the midst of the confusion they managed to maneuver to escape. “We crouched down and the shooting started. I heard three shots at first, and as we continued advancing, they shot more. Another vehicle was chasing us and almost caught up with us,” he said.

The former president said that it was a moment of high tension, but that they managed to escape the shooting with another vehicle: “We arrived at the second vehicle, but the driver was wounded, with a shot in the head and another in the arm. Fortunately, I None of them reached me,” he said.

According to Morales, in total, the vehicle in which he was traveling was shot 14 times.

Morales linked this attack to previous threats that, he claims, he has received for years. “Since 2022 or 2023 we have been denouncing. General Zúñiga, in meetings, said: ‘We have to go down to the Evo’. In military terms, going down is killing,” he said, insinuating that the operation was aimed at ending his life.

The former president assured that he was able to save himself by a miracle and reiterated that he will continue to denounce these events: “We barely saved our lives, but we are here to tell what happened.”
