Formula 1 officials are “closely following” developments in Ukraine following the Russian invasion on Thursday, but have not commented on whether the Russian GP will go ahead as planned in September.
Russia has held the GP since 2014, with this year’s event scheduled for September 25.
“Formula 1 is closely following the very fluid developments like many others and at this time has no further comment on the race scheduled for September,” said a spokesman for the series, whose commercial rights have been acquired by US-based Liberty Media.
