Santiago.- As a consequence of the heavy rains recorded in the province of Santiago in recent hours, the intake sources of the water systems present high turbidity.
In that sense, the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Coraasan), reported that the aqueducts of Nibaje, La Canela, Cienfuegos, Las Charcas and La Barranquitas will be out of operation. For these reasons, the institution has been forced to suspend the service in the sectors and communities that are supplied with them.
The affected areas due to the turbidity of the water are; the city center, Pueblo Nuevo, El Congo, La Joya, Baracoa, Hospedaje Yaque, and Retiro I and Retiro II.
Also, El Ensueño, La Zurza, Nibaje, Bella Vista, La Barranquitas, and La Otra Banda.
The authorities also reported that the sectors of the municipal districts of La Canela and Santiago Oeste, among others, will be affected.
