The Brazilian women’s football team takes this Saturday (26) the first step in the preparation cycle for the 2027 World Cup, which will be played in Brazil. The team led by coach Arthur Elias faces Colombia, in a friendly match, starting at 6:30 pm (Brasília time) at the Kleber Andrade stadium, in Cariacica (Espírito Santo). To begin this journey of preparation for the 2027 World Cup, Brazil faces one of the strongest opponents in South American national team football, Colombia, who lost the final of the last edition of the Copa América precisely to the Brazilian team. The Colombians also showed their quality in the last edition of the Olympic Games, held in Paris (France), a competition in which they reached the quarter-finals, against the current world champions from Spain. Arthur Elias’ team took silver.
“Games against Colombia are always very tough, as they are our biggest South American rival. It’s a very capable selection. But we are preparing ourselves in the best way possible to face them well and be able to fulfill our game plan to beat them”, declared defender Lauren.
For the games against Colombia, coach Arthur Elias called up a total of 26 athletes, of which 12 participated in the Paris Olympic Games. With this he gave the opportunity to 14 players who had not yet been mentioned by him in previous lists, which indicates that the selection is open to new values.

“Regarding the call-up, a big objective is to open the selection again to evaluate new players, not only in terms of age but also the selection environment. Players who deserve it for the present moment and also looking forward. We have a World Cup at home, a very big responsibility, with a very ambitious objective. So I want to get to know them up close, I want to be able to bring the players of the Brazilian team closer together, to greatly increase our unity with so many talented players that we have in the country”, declared the coach in a press conference held last Friday (25).
Arthur Elias stated that, in this Saturday’s match, he will maintain the backbone of the Olympic runner-up team: “Most of the starters on the field tomorrow [sábado] they will be athletes who were at the Olympics. I think it’s important that we maintain ideas with these players who played a great Olympics and, little by little, include [outras]. Not that we have premieres. I think about substitutions, there will be changes, enough minutes to evaluate, not just in this game, but in the next one”, he declared.
Considering the team’s latest performances, Brazil can start the match with: Lorena; Fê Palermo, Lauren, Tarciane and Yasmin; Angelina and Yaya; Kerolin, Ludmilla, Adriana and Priscila.
