One of the distributors told Canal N that the price of the product “will continue to rise and may reach up to S/ 80.”

“The Sol Gas brand costs 61 soles for 10 kilos. So far, Sol Gas for 45 kilos costs 22.7 soles and Más Gas costs 52 soles,” said a seller.

Other traders attributed the increase in LPG to international speculation and the price of a barrel of oil. However, consumers assured that if the cost of the product does not decrease in Lima, food prices will have to increase.

“That’s why we increased (the menu) from 12 soles to 13 soles. Before it was sold up to 10 soles, it went up like this. As the gas goes up we have to raise it,” said the owner of a restaurant.

Another person dedicated to the gastronomic sector explained that, a few days ago, he purchased a gas cylinder for S/ 48. Now, he had to pay S/ 52.
