The Brazilian women’s football team returns to the field this Saturday (26) for their first match after winning the silver at the Paris Olympics. Starting at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), Brazil will face Colombia, the second best team in South America, at the Kleber Andrade Stadium, in Cariacica (ES). The match will have live broadcast from TV Brasil.
The South American clash opens the team’s preparation cycle for the first Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Renewal is coach Arthur Elias’ current motto, but without losing sight of the experience of the Olympic runner-up players. Of the 26 called up, 12 participated in the historic campaign in Paris.
“Regarding the call-up, a big objective is for us to open the selection again to evaluate new players, not only in terms of age but also the selection environment. Players who deserve it for the present moment and also looking forward. We have a World Cup at home, a very big responsibility, with a very ambitious objective. So I want to get to know them up close, I want to be able to bring the players of the Brazilian team closer together, to greatly increase our unity with so many talented players that we have in the country”, said the coach in a press conference this Friday (25).
Collective completed! That smile when you remember that tomorrow is Brazil day on the field! 😁

Silver medalist in Paris, midfielder Angelina revealed the atmosphere among those called up during training and concentration in the city of Serra (ES). Currently at Orlando Pride (United States), the midfielder joined the group last Wednesday (23)
“I feel that the girls who are now in the squad have felt so comfortable on the field, perhaps because of the moment we had at the Olympics. There was a lot of confidence for those who were there, but also for those who are arriving now”, said Angelina during the press conference.
Holding more friendlies at home, taking advantage of FIFA Dates, is part of Arthur Elias’ strategic plans to encourage an environment of more respect for women during the 2027 World Cup.
“We need to balance both things: playing with strong teams that stimulate us a lot and also in our country. It is not always easy to reconcile everything, but there is already a plan for 2025 and 2026 so that we can do this. Taking advantage of the Olympic medal and the general growth of women’s football in the country to create this very favorable atmosphere for us, for the World Cup. I think that a country that invests in the World Cup has to have a social responsibility to what women’s football represents, women and various issues such as violence against women, many situations that I also intend to raise by then, which are important for the us to evolve as a whole”, projected the coach.
For this Saturday’s game (26), Arthur Elias stated that he will maintain the backbone of the Olympic runner-up team, with possible debuts throughout the match.
“The majority of the starters on the field tomorrow will be athletes who were at the Olympics. I think it’s important that we maintain ideas with these players who had a great Olympics, and little by little we include [outras]. Not that we won’t have premieres. I think about substitutions, there will be changes, enough minutes to evaluate, not only in this game but also in the other”, concluded the coach, referring to the second friendly against the Colombian team, next Tuesday (29), at 7pm.
