The Chilean citizen, Felipe Albornoz, who lives in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, detailed what Russia’s attack on the European country has meant, which has been marked by the death of more than 50 people after the declaration of a “military operation “, ordered by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
In a conversation with TVN, Albornoz referred to the complicated moment in Ukraine, detailing that “the situation is really chaotic.”
“Missile and mortar shelling has been heard, it seems to me. They are attacking different areas of Ukraine, strategic points,” he said. “I woke up with shelling. Every 15 minutes they felt. They were firing missiles at different points. They felt very strong here,” she added.
Asked about his next move in the Ukrainian capital, Albornoz said that they are diagnosing the steps to follow, but that he will try to reach the border in order to escape the country.
“I am now preparing and packing my bags in case the situation calms down a bit so I can start at the border. For now, they tell me that the roads are full of cars and it is almost impossible to move,” he said.
Faced with the actions of the Ukrainian population with the arrival of the armed conflict, Albornoz asserted that nobody expected the situation to reach the level it is currently at, which has been widely rejected by nations of the European continent.
“People are taking money out of banks, they are upset. Everything was shocked. Almost no one was prepared,” he concluded.
