Orellana pointed out that they have 70% progress in cleaning the main rivers of Huancayo, there is still 30% left to do, which will be done next month.
In a field reconnaissance, Civil Defense personnel toured the areas of Palián Uñas and Torre Torre, in the parts where the clearing was carried out, no emergencies were recorded on rainy days; unlike the sections of the Chilca River where there were certain overflows.
“We managed to remove up to 4 tons of solid waste, we found everything from garbage to animal remains”said the coordinator.
The two main problems faced during the rainy season are: the construction of housing in marginal areas and the obstruction of drains in urban areas.
Faced with this, Fernando Orellana expressed his concern about the existence of a large number of homes that do not leave even a meter of marginal area, specifically in Palián and Corona del Fraile.
