Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) predicted, this Thursday afternoon, that the downpours will continue at least until Saturday, due to the presence of a trough and a tropical wave in the area.
The agency indicated that under this forecast, four provinces remain on “yellow alert”, and seven on green alert due to the rainfall that has been recorded and that is expected in the coming hours.
The demarcations in yellow are Santiago de los Caballeros, La Vega, Monte Cristi and Santiago Rodríguez, according to the report.

The towns where the downpours will continue are Hato Mayor, Samaná, Monte Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Juan Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, Santiago de los Caballeros, Monte Cristi and Dajabón.
In addition, Puerto Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo and the National District.
Likewise, Indomet clarified that no tropical cyclones are expected to form in the area in the next 48 hours.
