Santo Domingo.- A fire This Thursday, the Eunice Muebles furniture store in the Las Palmas de Herrera sector in Santo Domingo Oeste, located on Isabel Aguiar Avenue, near the Marcelino Vélez hospital, went up in flames.
According to the 911 report, no affected people have been reported so far. The fire started at 4:00 in the afternoon.
“From the 911 System monitoring center, the incident was viewed through video surveillance cameras, which allowed the response to be coordinated with greater precision,” the emergency entity said in a statement.

Ten trucks from the Fire Department of the National District and Santo Domingo Oeste were deployed to the scene; an ambulance from the Directorate of Out-of-Hospital Emergency Services (DAEH); three units of the National Police; and two from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (DIGESETT), who were in charge of making traffic viable in nearby areas.
In addition, there was support from entities such as the Southern Electricity Distribution Company (Edesur), the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) and the 911 Drone team, to improve emergency coverage and effectiveness of actions.
Firefighters were still on the scene working hard to contain the flames and prevent it from spreading to other nearby areas.
