The Mayor’s Office of Santa Cruz de la Sierra and the Federation of Unions of Medical Branches of Public Health (Fesirmes) of Santa Cruz have not yet been able to agree on a time and place to meet this Friday, October 25.
This Thursday, Fesirmes called, for the tenth time, Mayor Jhonny Fernández to a meeting this Friday, October 25, at the El Remanso hospital, at 10:00. The issue to be discussed, as reported, is the situation in which the centers of the capital of Santa Cruz find themselves.
“(…) We extend the invitation again to your authority, to hold a meeting urgently tomorrow, October 25, at 10:00 in the facilities of the El Remanso health center“, states the letter that was presented this Thursday and already has a stamp of receipt.
Hours later, the municipal spokesperson, Bernardo Montenegro, assured that a note had earlier been sent to Fesirmes to summon them to a meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, at the Fifth Municipal.
“Then I think it’s time for us to stop these tricks once and for all. The mayor will be here tomorrow, Friday, at 4:00 in the afternoon, waiting for them to, once and for all, be able to solve it and for the population to benefit the most, because otherwise it will be revealed that this issue is merely a matter of personal interests and not wanting to do what they should do, which is their job,” Montenegro stated, before the Medes.
For Montenegro, this situation “is really regrettable. More than half of the month they are on strike. The mayor is going to wait for them at the municipal villa, what do they argue considering that the municipality has already canceled the debt that they argued at the time the lack of payment, what is the inconvenience that exists now to be able to sit down with the municipality or simply serve the population.
To which Fesirmes responded that the health care, which the Municipality boasts of, is actually provided by professionals affiliated with that institution, and who do not have the minimum conditions to work.
“I tell you, Mr. Montenegro, that it is not you who provide these services. It is ‘todinga’, this ‘troop of lazy people’, as you named them, who carry them out in hospitals and health centers,” he said at a conference. the leader of Fesirmes Kadija Ovando.
Meanwhile, the Santa Cruz Medical College meets, this Thursday night, and urgently, to analyze the problem that affects health establishments of the public system and social security.
