Cainco warns that the country is on the verge of collapse “behind smoke screens” and calls for dialogue

In an institutional video released this Thursday afternoon, the president of the Chamber of Industry, Services and Tourism of Santa Cruz (Cainco), Jean Pierre Antelo, warned that the country is on the verge of a collapse “that is happening behind smoke screens that intentionally seek to put the complex economic situation of the country.”

The executive pointed out that inflation, unemployment, slowdown and the search for fuel, “is part of our daily lives,” which becomes a critical factor for productive sectors and the food security of the country.

“They are missing less than 70 days left in the year and the resilience of Bolivians is becoming tired. Yesterday I was in Cochabamba and the feeling is national, we cannot continue like this, No one should have to get used to bad things. At this time of year, companies should be planning and projecting. Families outlining goals for 2025,” Antelo stated.

He regretted that there is an accumulation of unresolved problems, which suffocate the future of Bolivians. “One day at a time has become a motto that helps us survive, but “It is stifling our vision for the future.”

According to the business leader, In May, Cainco warned that the crisis was overflowing and now we see the result of incomplete (Government) measures that have not addressed the underlying problems.

“A year ago dollars were scarce. Today they are still missing. Companies’ inventories have been reduced as has the purchasing power of families (…). There is companies that have stopped operating due to lack of dollars and fuel. What does a company do that cannot work? And what does a person do without a source of employment? We warned it and today it is evident. Politics ate management and the solutions are prey to power pulses,” he said in reference to the pre-electoral disputes between Evo Morales and the current president, Luis Arce.

He considered that they are not only roads and credits blocked in the (Legislative) Assembly, “but the future of our country is blocked. It’s time to set limits with common sense and clear rules. Political disputes cannot continue using the population as hostages. It is time to act for Bolivia. In 2025, each Bolivian will go to the polls and freely make the decision of their preference. What must be ensured are the minimum, necessary and imperative conditions to be able to reach 2025 resilient, but not drowned”, he pointed out.

Antelo ended by sending three messages, the first: “that “The future is still possible.” and that “we must emphatically refuse to become accustomed to evil.”

The second: “an open call to those who today calculate their decisions based on individual interests and who believe that it is legitimate that 11 million Bolivians have their dreams restricted because of these personal battles. And I call action to those who have the responsibility of providing certainty, but today they only show “mediocrity disguised as good intentions.” he stated.

Finally, he reaffirmed Cainco’s commitment to maintaining the doors open “to dialogue, to debate ideas and proposals, to overcome the crisis and above all to think about the future. Our voice will always be firm to defend the Bolivian entrepreneurial spirit, to the sales lady and to big industry, to each and every one of the Bolivians who believe that a future is possible.”
