This Thursday, a group of transporters blocked entry to the offices of the National Tax Service (SIN) on Sucre Street in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The protest began around 7:00 in the morning, in rejection of the lack of diesel supply, a problem that directly affects the transportation sector in the country.

“We pay our taxes, but The Government does not guarantee us fuel. “Without diesel there is no work”claimed one of the protesters, who was carrying a sign demanding a solution.

The transporters indicated that, due to the shortage of diesel, they are forced to wait up to four days at the pumps to be able to supply themselves, which harms their work and increases their operating costs.

Although the protesters clarified that the protest is peaceful and is not about an occupation of the offices, They prevented the entry of more officials to the institution. Only some employees managed to enter before the start of the mobilization, but they remain inside without being able to leave.

After 8:00, a unit of the Delta Police arrived with about eight troops equipped with shields. They tried to make their way through the protesters, which generated moments of strain on the spot.

The transporters, however, stated that They will not allow work to resume in the offices of National Taxes until the problem of fuel supply is resolved.

The situation remains tense, with a total cut in traffic on Sucre Street, while the transporters assure that The protest will continue until 4:00 p.m. hours.
