This Wednesday in the early hours of the morning it melted the first of the 365 columns of Line 1 of the Bogotá Metro that will be located on the section of Caracas Avenue.

This way, The structure is added to the 154 columns that have already been built along the 24 km of the route that makes up this first stage of the most important infrastructure and transportation project in the capital.
As reported by the district administration, with a cut-off date of September 30, 2024, the first line of the Bogotá Metro registers a general advance of 40.76%. The figure includes the lifting of 3,123 piles, 76 finished capital beams, 217 supports and 167 dice.
Estimates suggest that the system will be completed in 2026, in order to begin testing with the trains and, two years later, complete the verification phases to make way for its circulation open to the public.

What will the trains be like?
The Mayor’s Office of Bogotá revealed the first images of the carriages and trains that will be part of this mobility megaproject.
The machinery, which is being manufactured in China, will be dressed in the colors of the city’s flag (yellow and red). There are also plans to incorporate the black eagle that is part of the Bogotá shield into the design.
It is worth remembering that the first line of the Bogotá Metro will have 16 stations that will go from the town of Kennedy to Chapinero and Barrios Unidos along Villavicencio, Primero de Mayo and Caracas avenues.
