Puebla, Pue. Due to financial hole of 500 million pesos that left the outgoing municipal government, the current mayor of Puebla, José Chedraui Budib, requested in the Cabildo to ask the state government for advance payment of federal shares for the remaining two months of 2024.
This Wednesday in a Council session, the mayor’s request was unanimously approved, so the letter of instruction will be sent to the state Planning and Finance Secretariat for evaluation.
He commented that the resources required, without mentioning the quantity, correspond to the Income Stabilization Fund of the Federal Entities (FEIEF), which are used for financial emergencies.
Before the intervention of the Morena councilor, Mayte Rivera Vivanco, regarding the requested amount and how it will be applied, Chedraui Budib, emanating from the same party, responded that it is to solve the lack of resources left by the city council of the National Action Party (PAN). ).
He explained that the needs of the Angelópolis city council will be analyzed and in which departments or areas they will be applied.
Opposition leaves and endorses petition
In this session, the opposition councilors of the blue and white and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) did not comment on how the last municipal government left the finances, which began as councilor Eduardo Rivera Pérez and ended with Adán Domínguez, when the former sought the governorship.
The incoming administration, since October 15, has debts with companies that provide some type of service or intervention in works. Some have pending payments of 30 million pesos.
And in the last year of the last city council, there was an overdraft in works and benefits for an amount of 500 million pesos.
However, the then mayor Adán Domínguez pointed out that he left his successor 1,325 million pesos to operate in the remaining months of this year.
