The president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industries said that 2024 performance in this sector was driven by growth in health, technology, agri-food, retail and supermarket sectors
The Venezuelan Chamber of Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industries (Venacor) registers a growth of between 30% and 35% in 2024, compared to last year’s performance.
The president of Venacor, Alcides Cayama, indicated this Wednesday, October 23, in a Consecomercio press conference, that the growth is due to the recovery of other sectors of the economy, which have an impact on this group.
“It is a sector that crosses all sectors of the economy, as others grow we do too. This year was basically driven by the health, technology, agri-food, retail and supermarket sectors. In all these places there is refrigeration and there are air conditioners. Growth this year, compared to 2023, is around 30-35% and we hope to continue growing this year”Cayama said.
The union representative explained that the greatest demand for refrigeration equipment comes mainly from the center of the country and from cities such as Caracas, Barquisimeto, Valencia, Maracay, Portuguesa and Barcelona to the east.
“In the east it was due to a lot of work that was done at Jose’s Cryogenic, there was quite stable growth for different companies,” he noted.

Regarding the challenges faced by this sector, the president of Venacor said that they need a greater technological update. “This is a chamber that, because it is sectoral, has commercial companies that handle import, distribution, retailbut it also has service companies that do maintenance, repairs, that do installations,” he explained.
Cayama indicated that industrial air conditioning equipment is manufactured in the country and everything related to refrigeration machines, cellars, refrigerators and industrial fans is also produced.
