The departmental prosecutor of Tarija, Sandra Gutiérrez, reappeared this Wednesday to ask the victim of the human trafficking case, which involves former president Evo Morales, to appear to give her informative statement.
Gutiérrez offers all the legal guarantees for you to appear and give your statement. “It gave her all the legal security to appear, in accordance with what our laws establish. We need her to appear and tell the truth,” the prosecutor responded to a question posed by EL DEBER.
The victim, along with her little daughter and her mother, who is also being investigated, went underground because there is no legal security.
According to the lawyer, Carlos Trujillo, who defends the alleged victim, his client and her mother are in the country.
Former President Evo Morales is included in this tax investigation process, which has been in reserve by order of a Court of the Departmental Court of Justice (TDJ) since the previous week.
Gutiérrez declared that the reservation concludes this Friday and on Monday he will announce the progress in the investigations by the commission of prosecutors.
In her opinion, the investigations are carried out amid threats and intimidation against her and the prosecutors to prevent the truth of the facts in this case from being known.
“We remain firm and we will be firm until the last moment we are in the institution. It is an investigation in accordance with the law and due process, without violating any rights,” Gutiérrez asserted.
Regarding the arrest warrant against Evo Morales, the prosecutor indicated that, if a person does not appear to testify, the current legal regulations must be applied and it is for everyone without any distinction.
