ASSE implemented telemedicine in 105 care centers throughout the country in 2024

The National Telemedicine Plan, promoted by the State Health Services Administration (ASSE), made it possible to equip 105 remote care nodes, train more than 1,000 officials and offer 33 specialties in the last six months, reported the president of the public provider, Marcelo Sosa at the First National Meeting of Referents and Collaborators of Telemedicine Services.

The activity took place in the assembly hall of the ASSE building. Accompanying Sosa were the vice president of the organization, Néstor Graña; the general manager, Juan Ramón Blanco; the director of Telemedicine, Rosario Berterretche; the experts from the Telemedicine Service of the Garrahan Hospital in Buenos Aires Celeste Savignano and Antonio Luna, and representatives of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Sosa referred to the National Telemedicine Plan as an institutional achievement that promotes health equity since it allows health centers that do not have some medical benefits to use them remotely.

Likewise, he highlighted that telemedicine makes it possible for patients not to have to travel long distances to access medical care and reduces the time in which they receive treatments.

The leader thanked the work carried out by the Telemedicine Directorate and its entire team, to the representatives and collaborators distributed in the different departments of the country.
