The former president Martin Vizcarra has requested to the Supreme Court that the 68 assets seized by the Prosecutor’s Office in a raid on his home in San Isidro on March 18 for allegedly being the leader of the criminal network called ‘The Untouchables of Corruption’. Vizcarra argues that these seized assets have already been used as part of the investigation, so he requests that they be returned to him. This diligence was directed by the Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints team.
“Through the letter received on 10/04/2024, by the affected Martín Alberto Vizcarra Cornejo, he requests this judiciary to order the prosecution to return sixty-eight (68) seized assets, as a consequence of the execution of the measure of search and others, ordered by Resolution No. 01 of 03/15/2024, carried out at the home on 03/18/2024, as they had already been used for the investigative activity,” the document reads.

They are not the only properties that have been seized from Martín Vizcarra
Last September 4, the National Subsystem Specialized in Domain Forfeiturein charge of the supreme judge Manuel Lujanordered a precautionary measure, which ordered the embargo of seven properties of former president Martín Vizcarra and his wife Maribel Diaz.
“All my assets were seized at the request of prosecutor Juárez Atoche in 2021, now another prosecutor’s office is seizing them again for the same case. The objective is in sight, to generate a scandal to stop the massive support for my candidacy, they will not be able to. That is why the former head of state cannot sell, transfer or give away any of the 7 properties which have been seized. This action was announced after the Transitory Court Specialized in Domain Extinction of Limachaired by Judge Flor de María Acero Ramos who gave the green light to the request of the Sixth Transitory Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for Domain Extinction of Lima.

Martín Vizcarra requests the Judiciary not to start an oral trial for Lomas de Ilo and Hospital in Moquegua
The former president, Martín Vizcarra, asked the Judiciary not to hold the trial against him for the investigations into Lomas de Ilo and the Moquegua Hospital, which is scheduled for Monday, October 28. According to the Prosecutor’s thesis, Vizcarra would have received illicit payments when he was regional governor, for which 15 years in prison are being requested against him.
