The transport unions of Huánuco, represented by Evaristo Bueno Tafur, announced their adherence to the national strike of transporters and civil society scheduled for October 23. The 24-hour stoppage seeks to express the rejection of the growing citizen insecurity that affects the country and its provinces, with events such as extortion, homicides, organized crime and assaults in broad daylight.
In a service, Bueno Tafur called on the general population to join the protest and fight against this phenomenon that endangers the safety and lives of everyone.
“Transporters have to reflect on the situation,” He pointed out and urged the urban transportation, cargo, interprovincial, national, construction materials and special services unions to gather at 9:00 am on October 23 in the Alameda de la República.
As a precautionary measure, he said, transporters have been suggested to store their units. In addition, a document has been sent to the UGEL so that security measures can be taken in educational institutions with schoolchildren.
“We are bowing to the national call”said Bueno Tafur, reiterating the commitment of Huánuco transporters to the fight against insecurity.
