SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Several organizations of the regime, including the Women’s Federation Cuban (FMC), they called on Cubans this Tuesday to make donations for those affected by Hurricane Oscar, according to officials and official media on their social networks.

The FMC indicated that they will receive non-perishable food, clothing and footwear, personal hygiene items and cleaning products to deliver to those affected by the meteorological phenomenon.

Several FMC headquarters in the different Cuban territories replicated the call. Liliana Alfaro Alarcón, general secretary of the FMC in Caibarién, manifested that “solidarity is a fundamental value in our society and, in times like these, it is crucial that we come together to help those who need it most.”

Former spy Gerardo Hernández, national coordinator of the CDR, also joined the “initiative,” asking for donations from each neighborhood.

Ulises Guirarte de Nacimiento, general secretary of the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC), specified that from the work centers they would collect food and supplies for the eastern provinces hit by Oscar.

The regime, unable to mobilize resources from its own institutions to support those who have lost everything due to the hurricane, asks citizens for their “humanitarian aid” in the midst of a critical shortage of food and supplies and in the midst of long days of blackouts that have led to the breakdown of the few food products that families kept in the refrigerators.

The petition, which calls on the population, does not refer to the way in which the Government will manage the means to mitigate the damages suffered by Guantanamo residents due to the weather event that caused damage to more than a thousand homes.

Nor does it reveal whether funds and food will be provided for the tourism for the population of that region.
