President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva underwent exams this Tuesday (22), in Brasília, and, according to the medical bulletin from Hospital Sírio-Libanês, the condition is stable and Lula is able to carry out his work routine. The bulletin, however, does not mention the possibility of travel, but says that a new control exam will be carried out within 72 hours.
Last Saturday (19), Lula fell in the bathroom of his official residence, at Palácio da Alvorada, hit his head and needed five stitches on the back of his head. At the time, imaging tests showed a small hemorrhage in the brain and the medical team recommended, as a precaution, avoiding long-distance trips, like the one Lula would take to participate in the BRICS Leaders Summitin Kazan, Russia.
“The imaging exam is stable compared to the previous one, with a new control exam planned to be carried out in 72 hours. He is able to carry out his work routine”, says the bulletin.
The president remains under the supervision of his medical team, under the care of his personal doctor, Roberto Kalil Filho, and the President’s doctor, Ana Helena Germoglio.
Upon his return from Russia, the president was expected to participate in campaign events in the state of São Paulo, on the occasion of the second round of municipal elections, on Sunday (27), in addition to voting in São Bernardo do Campo, Lula’s electoral home. The president also has trip booked to Caliin Colombia, where the United Nations conference on biodiversity takes place until November 1st.
THE Brazil Agency contacted the Presidency’s Communications Secretariat to clarify travel plans and is awaiting information.
