UNAB: Ortega-Murillo Dictatorship is in a phase of internal decomposition

The opposition united in the Blue and White National Unity (UNAB) affirms that the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo is in evident internal decomposition, so it will be impossible for them to leave a dynastic succession that would apparently fall to Laureano Ortega, since the regime placed him in key positions and has linked him to the highest levels of power within the State.

“Such decomposition is manifested in the systematic and widespread process of purging at all levels, in the public administration, in the National Police, in the Nicaraguan Army, in public universities and within the militancy of the Sandinista National Liberation Front” says the UNAB message on social networks.

For the opposition organization, another aspect that reveals the internal decomposition of the dictatorship is the shortlist presented to the Central American Integration System SICA, in which they propose Sonia Castro, María Coronel Kinloch and Arling Alonso, all of them accused of committing crimes of against humanity and condemned with sanctions by the international community.

“This shortlist not only demonstrates the decrepitude of the dictatorship in its terminal phase, but also the lack of loyalty, and replacement in the regime itself, they only depend on discredited and criminal officials,” says Juan Diego Barberena of the Political Council of the UNAB.

The previous shortlist presented by the Ortega government and made up of Valdrack Jaentschke, Violeta Irías Nelson and Iris Montenegro was rejected by the majority of foreign ministers within SICA, and only had the support of the president of Honduras Xiomara Castro, the defeat of Jaentschke It angered the dictatorial couple to the point of threatening to leave SICA.

Another process that the opposition describes as desperate on the part of the dictatorship and that aims to rebuild its state of strength is the confiscation that is carried out through the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic. Recently, the dictatorship declared 35 properties of public utility that are, according to the regime, in a “state of abandonment” and that could be used to “disturb the peace of Nicaragua.”

«The Ortega Murillo family has initiated a massive process of confiscations through the figure of expropriation, which is nothing more than the theft of the property of Nicaraguans without compensation, without opposition and without knowledge. We alert the people of Nicaragua and the international community of these events,” says UNAB.

For Barberena, Daniel Ortega has no other recourse than to blame the United States for the poor management of his government, just as the dictatorships of Cuba and Venezuela do, in reference to the national blackout that the Caribbean island is experiencing and of which the regime Orteguista, through a statement, held the Biden government responsible.

In its statement, UNAB calls on the different sectors of the people of Nicaragua to maintain resistance and hope for political, social and democratic change with justice in Nicaragua.
