Business sector in favor of withdrawal of tax reform, urge dialogue

The National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), the Industry Associations (AIRD), Herrera Companies and Industries (Aneih), Non-Alcoholic Beverage Industries (Asibenas) spoke in this regard; Home Builders and Developers (Acoprovi); Business and Professional Women (Anmepro); and that of Cibao Home Developers and Builders (Aprocovici). Also the prominent producer and leader of the agricultural sector, Osmar Benítez.

In addition, the Employers’ confederations of the Dominican Republic (Copardom) and Micro, Small and Medium-sized Construction Companies (Copymecon), the National Council of Trade in Supplies (CNCP), the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santiago and the National Confederation of Agricultural Producers (Confenagro), among others.

The president of Conep, Celso Juan Marranzini He published on his X account: “We support the President’s balanced decision regarding the fiscal project. The ability to listen and put the willingness to rectify and continue the dialogue above the circumstances inspires confidence and enhances his management as a leader.”

Also the executive vice president, Caesar Dargamreacted on this social network saying that, “looking to the future, the discussion of the sustainability of the development of the DR must continue. The fiscal issue is essential, and its comprehensive approach must be sought.”

The AIRD expressed: “we welcome the openness shown to listen, sincerely, to the various sectoral concerns and we remain available to continue with the processes of constructive dialogue that allow us to create the consensus that is required in the future, to continue promoting the growth of our economy.”

Meanwhile, the president of the Aneih, Euri Andujarstated: “we are convinced that a fiscal reform is necessary to guarantee the sustainability and modernization of our public finances, but this must be the result of an inclusive and progressive process, in which the needs and capacities of the different sectors are considered. national productive”.

Benítez called to begin identifying the possible sources of generating new resources to finance the development that is to be achieved, in this way, the country will move along the paths of inclusive progress.

The president of Copardom, Laura Pena Izquierdourged to continue the dialogue between the different sectors. “This reform must guarantee legal security, as well as be equitable and progressive, promoting an environment of stability and growth,” he stated.

For its part, Acoprovi reiterated its support for the Government, in its commitment to building a fair and sustainable fiscal system, which promotes the economic development of the country, without compromising the well-being of the most vulnerable.

The CNCP also said that it is ready to work constructively, present a preliminary project that protects the common good and contributes to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic.
