The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumstated that the reform of the Judicial Branch of the Federationwhich will ensure that judges, magistrates and ministers are elected by popular vote, will become an example for the world, although the Harvard University School have another opinion.
“We are building a true rule of law in our country. And we will never forget it, because that’s how we arrived, as we serve the people of Mexico, we don’t serve a few interests,” said the Mexican president.
The statement by the head of the federal Executive arose after it became known that the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena participated in a forum in which, when explaining the requirements that the reform proposes to be a judge, the attendees laughed.
On the other hand, Sheinbaum Pardo accused a campaign against him promoted by certain sectors of the Judiciary and some media for the alleged contempt for the elimination of the decree of the reform mentioned in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

Claudia Sheinbaum also suggested that the judges who defend these protections are being used as “spokespersons” for the Judiciary.
