This agreement seeks to contribute to the goal that the FNG has set of increasing the credit inclusion indicator from 35.3% to 40% in 2026, thus creating greater opportunities for those who have not been able to access formal credit for various reasons.

“Today we are taking a big step in terms of social inclusion with this pact, strengthening the progress of both households and microentrepreneurs, allowing more Colombians to dream of their businesses growing, thus promoting productive transformation.”said Javier Cuéllar, president of the FNG.

“At Asomicrofinanzas, we are convinced that microcredit is a catalyst for social and economic transformation in Colombia. Through access to credit for the population of the popular economy, we have achieved that more than 2.7 million microentrepreneurs, of which 52% are women, can make their dreams come true in the country,” stated María Clara Hoyos Jaramillo, president of Asomicrofinanzas.

With this announcement, the union of microfinance institutions and the National Guarantee Fund recognize the importance of bringing financial solutions to the territories, where 31.4% of Colombia’s microcredit portfolio is concentrated, contributing not only to increase financial inclusionbut also to promote the sustainable development of communities in the 1,104 municipalities of the country.
