She also assured that she was excluded in the ‘Central Dynamics’ case. This, so that he can succeed the coup plotter Pedro Castillo in office, when it was vacated in December 2022.

“In October 22, I met the lawyer Óscar Nieves, who was a lawyer at that time for Minister Dina Boluarte (before she became president, in 2022). She was part of an investigation into money laundering that Richard Rojas was seeing through ‘Dynamics of the Center’; they ask me to speak with Rafael Vela; they knew about my friendship with Rafael, so that the investigation is expanded, and no preventive detention or detention measures are requested against Mrs. Bolaurte (It was October. 2022), the constitutional complaint had already been filed against Pedro Castillo, so the forecast was that: Ms. Boluarte would be cleared to succeed Mr. Castillo. That was the first specific issue with the president,” Villanueva said.

Benavides’ former advisor said that he was contacted through prosecutor Marco Huamán.

“He asks me to split this investigation (Central Dynamics). I speak with Rafael Vela. He speaks with Richard Rojas, and preventive detention is presented. The investigation is formalized against Cerrón and others, but not against Dina Boluarte if a preventive detention against her could not succeed Pedro Castillo. And what Rafael Vela always wanted was to be Supreme Prosecutor; then, the request in exchange for this split,” indicated the former advisor.

HE ASKED HIM TO STAY IN THE CLINIC

On the other hand, Villanueva stated that the former National Prosecutor asked him to check into a clinic before his capture, warning him to “disappear all the papers he has.”

Prosecutor Rafael Vela contacted Cuarto Poder after Jaime Villanueva’s statements. “He must take charge of the legal consequences,” he assured.
